This work is for TEDx Hongik University 2019.
My team and I successfully hold TEDx event at Hongik university at 23th-November-2019,and this is the record of my annual participation as a designer.

What I designed first were these posters for recruiting more organizers. We had just 7-8 members when established because everything was zero-based at first.
So my first work for team was designing this recruiting poster to gain more members.

Design team and I focused on clarifying the 'recruiting' informationand making posters standing out from many other club posters.
Also, the photograph of the right poster is an image that I took one of my design team member.

Posters were also uploaded online - our Facebook and Instagram account -,so the ratio for each SNS was different from each other.
For example, we separately made square version of the posters for instagram uploading.

We also shoot ourselves a video advertisement for recruiting. We told about the vision and plan of our TEDx team in this video.

After recruiting new members, I designed namecards for 22 organizers of TED X Hongik University.

'X' means literally TEDx, and the arrow symbol represented
Tal Moon Streeter's <Eternal Smile> the symbolic statue of Hongik University campus in Seoul.

We were divided into 4 teams - Design, Production, Partenership, Marketing -,
and I worked as a graphic and space designer in design team.

I also archived our one-year-journey and the day event as a photographer.
Plus, I helped a lot on editing video promotoions for marketing team.

We were planned to open the TED X Hongik University event 2019 with the theme “good circle”.

Therefore, main task of the design team was express 'good circle' through the main poster.
We researched other TEDx events, thought about our theme, and applied the red color of TED.

So, this is our main graphic poster.

Our TEDx event had ‘good circle’ as our theme, and it means virtuous circle.
What we define as a good circle is the sustainability we can start
and continue for the better world.

Also we think TEDx itself is a start of making a good circle since it brings inspirations to people. The people that get impacts will make change in their own ways and go and make other inspirations.

And this is the additional poster we made to introduce our speakers well.
We had 4 speakers talking about the sustainability in each field, technology, entertainment, design.

Design team members also helped marketing team a lot forediting promotional videos introducing our speakers and their speech contents on the TEDx.

Then, there were 9 categories we had to design for the event day.

First, I designed this ticket for audience to enter.

Actually, the entrance fee of our event was free and opened until Garam Hall (the event space) is full, but there were sponsored gifts for early birds.

So this ticket was used for checking the early birds and the total number of audience.

Third, we provide name cards for guest(audience), speaker, and us(staff).
One of design team members designed three different name cards  in three color way
- using white, black, and red. In the back of name card, we put the event schedule.

These name cards not only used in TEDx speech, but also in after party.

Fourth, my team member made two types of x-banner for speech and party space.

And this space is a rented cafe for after-party.
The right (white) poster is for the speech space, so it came from main poster graphic. The left (black) poster is for the after-party place, so new graphic is modified from main graphic.

Fifth, my team member also designed advertising banners for hanging on the campus.

So the two posters are a set for street lamp. The posters are still dot-to-dot concept like main poster,
while left poster is dot-to-dot before solving (connecting lines), and right poster is after solving.

We also made wide banners to hang it all over the campus to make advertising effect maximum.

Sixth, this is our banner installation on glass walls in front of the event space 'Garam Hall'.

Every window size was different, so we made a lot of effort on making perfectly fitted banner
to express our main theme 'good circle' and our visual concept 'dot-to-dots'.

We also privately got compliment about this wall installation from TEDx.

Seventh, we made 4 more banners for the entrance, and these designs were all different from each other
- to optimize making our TEDx space more dramatic.

This was the back board banner in the entrance desk space, one and only red point banner in other whites ones.

This was the left banner for the entrance.

Ninth, two architecture-majored members made 'TEDx Hongik U' solid logo structure for the stage.

They started with a handy-size prototyping, and just finished these letter boxes with only color papers and foam boards.

We leisure-cutted the foam boards  to make precise shape of the font
because TEDx had their own logo making rules.

Thanks to design team and other teams' cooperation, we could finally held successful TEDx event.

Lastly, It was great experience for me to cowork with students from various major
and achieve intensive one-year-plan design career for just a day event - TEDx Hongik University - together.

I shared this TEDx design to provide references for any other pre-TEDx organizers

Without the permission of the group 'TEDx Hongik U 2019' including me,
it is forbidden to commercially use or transport it outside without indicating the source.

After the day, TEDx randomly send email to 100 people from audience to check the quality of our event.

The question was "Are you willing to recommend this event to your acquaintances?"
And most people gives us score 8 - 10 out of 10.

The responses were really satisfied than I expected to, so it makes me feel rewarding.
